Turo has extensive experience in both private equity and industry. He is a founding partner and Chairman of the Board at Midas Equities Oy. In addition, he serves as an investor and board member in several privately held companies.

Before his current roles, Turo was a founding partner and CEO of a European fund of private equity funds managing over one billion euros in institutional capital. Prior to founding the fund, he held senior management positions at Finnish Industry Investment Ltd (Tesi), where he was responsible for direct investments in portfolio companies as well as investments in private equity funds.

Turo also has hands-on industrial experience from his tenure as CEO of a globally operating Finnish technology company. Earlier in his career, he worked at Sitra, where he was responsible for investments in the machinery and engineering industries. He began his professional career at Dow Chemical in the Netherlands. Over the years, Turo has served as a board member and investor in numerous privately held companies.

He holds a Master of Science in Engineering from what is now Aalto University School of Engineering, and an MBA from Henley Management College (UK).
